Zona Coffee at the Jerome Grand Hotel: Brewing in a Haunted Hallway

Updated: 14 hours ago

Introduction

The Jerome Grand Hotel, perched high above the historic mining town of Jerome, Arizona, is often called one of the most haunted hotels in America. Naturally, The 918 Files team had to visit — and what better way to investigate than brewing a pot of Zona Coffee Company’s Dark Roast in the hotel’s most active hallway?

A History of Hauntings

Originally built as a hospital in 1926, the Jerome Grand Hotel has a long history of deaths — from mining accidents to suicides.

Guests and staff frequently report:

✅ Phantom footsteps

✅ Disembodied voices

✅ Strange shadows and cold spots

Our Experiment

We set up a small table on the third floor — reputed to be the most haunted area — and brewed fresh Midnight Roast at 3:00 AM. As the coffee brewed, we recorded:

  • Multiple EMF spikes near Room 32

  • A sudden cold draft (room temperature dropped 10 degrees in 3 minutes)

  • A faint whisper, captured on a digital recorder: “Stay here.”

Oddly, the coffee itself seemed to stay piping hot far longer than normal — over an hour without cooling noticeably.

Coincidence or Connection?

Coffee isn’t typically linked to paranormal activity — but maybe Midnight Roast wakes more than just the living.
